Are you "Born" again?- so that you will have guaranteed salvation and you will sure go to heaven on judgement day?

Let's go through the following:

Do you understand what is Salvation?

  1. Are you aware that you have sinned a lot (me2), and the consequence for all your sins is forever torture in hell? *think about Jesus in "The Passion of The Christ" and multiply the pain by n times*
  2. Are you aware that God became flesh in the person of Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 3:16), and that he died for the sins of the world and resurrect? *Jesus paid off and cleanse all your sins*
  3. Are you aware that, now you are in Big Trouble and your only way out is to come to the Savior, Christ and repent? *you are free to go if you believe in him and repent*

Do you understand what is repentance?

  1. Are you aware that repentance means "intellectual understanding" + "actions" e.g. confess your sins (knowing that you have sinned) + ask for forgiveness (knowing that Jesus is the only way) + change in lifestyle (cut off from sins)!

Finally, do you actually repent?

Once you repent, you are "born" again- it means you will lead a totally different life! (Corithians 5:17)

However, if your life is still pretty much like in the past, before you accepted Jesus, e.g.

*all bible verses are at the bottom of this post*

  • unsure of the meaning of your life (John 10:10, Mattew 22:37-39, 28:19-20...)
  • no obvious change in life, e.g. increase in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22)
  • still addicted to sins (Galatians 5:16-21)
  • no interest in reading the Bible (knowing God) (Jeremiah 15:16, Matthew 22:29)
  • no motivation in sharing God with non-believers (Matthew 28:19-20)

Danger!

Analogy: A guy told you he is a vegetarian (Christian).  However, you see him eating meat all the time.  Do you still consider him a vegetarian?

Finally, it is not what you have to do to repent but your attitude and your passion to repent!  But if a normal person never picks up the Bible and read, we doubt whether he truly repents!

p.s. *Reading the Bible is essential to all Christians e.g. knowing how to walk in the right path*  (Hosea 4:6,14)

  • John 10:10- The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
  • Matthew 27:37-40- Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it :'love your neighbor as yourself.'
  • Matthew 28:19-20- Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And I am with you always, to the very end of this age."
  • Galatians 5:22- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law
  • Galatians 5:16-21- So I (Paul) say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of siunful nature.  For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature.  They are in conflit with each other, so that you do not do what you want.  But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.  The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discrod, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies and the like.  I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
  • Jeremiah 15:16- When your words come, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's deight
  • Matthew 22:29- Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scripture or the power of God"
  • Ezekiel 3:18- When I (God) say to a wicked man, 'You will surely die.' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sins, and I will hold you accountable for his blood
  • Hosea 4:6- my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. ...
  • Hosea 4:14- ..., a people without understanding will come to ruin

You know what, that is so TRUE!!! You know after confessing my old sins and problems to God, forgiveness was given to me and I have taken up some major stuff (tasks) in order to please God. How do I put this, God has come into my dreams many a times under different situations, but has made me realize that it is very important to repent but also learn to keep on praying for others b/c it is very important to keep in touch with God 100% of the time!

Well God bless us all and learn to ask for "forgiveness" sinning is never good for anyone at all come judgement day!

The bible says, "Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed." (Jamese 5:16a). 'We only grow by taking risks, and the most difficult risk of all is to be honest with ourselves and with others.

I finally understand why it's so essential to read the bible every day and night that it's even more important than food.

Job 23:12- I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food

*bible verses at the bottom*

If you are a non-Christians or new Christians, please watch 1 and then 2.

If you are an old Christian, you might skip 1 and watch 2, though it's best to watch both (1 then 2).

The conclusion:

A "born" again Christian is one who

  1. repents
  2. confesses Jesus is his/her Lord and stands firm in temptations, trials and tribulations

For no.1- Analogy: imagine on sunday worship, a terrorist suddenly rushed into the church and threatened to kill all Christians!  Will you be the one who confess Jesus is your Lord or will you say you are a "come and see" visitor? (Luke 17:33-34)

For no.2- Example: Can people notice you live a Christian life?

*Attention: We must always remember that actions prove how true our repentance is, Acts 26:20- "...I (Paul) preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds"

God bless us all  Let us not stand still and continue to feed on God's words day by day.

p.s. reference

Luke 17:33-34- whoever tries to keep his life shall lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.

The Parable of the Sower Mark 4:3-20

  • 3"Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed.
  • 4As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.
  • 5Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.
  • 6But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.
  • 7Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain.
  • 8Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, multiplying thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times."

  • 9Then Jesus said, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

  • 10When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables.
  • 11He told them, "The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables
  • 12so that,
" 'they may be ever seeing but never perceiving,
           and ever hearing but never understanding;
otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!'[
    1] "

Explanations:

  • 13Then Jesus said to them, "Don't you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable?
  • 14The farmer sows the word.
  • 15Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.
  • 16Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy.
  • 17But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.
  • 18Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word;
  • 19but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.
  • 20Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop--thirty, sixty or even a hundred times what was sown."
Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control..."

dear,

In my last 2 posts, I apologize for any unclear messages.  Here, I'd summarize it.

Q: Who is chosen :win: and who is not?

A: Repent & believe in God.

Q: Is it only an one-time confession and that's all?

A: No.  Jesus clearly said that in addition to our confession, we have to do what he commands.

For reference, you can read:

  1.  'The Parable of the Ten Virgins'

  2. 'The Parable of the Talents'

  3. 'The Sheep and the Goats'

God be with you amen.
